We had our annual environmental health visit a couple of weeks ago. A very nice gentleman came and inspected us the kitchen and our food hygiene practices and we are pleased and proud to announce that we achieved a 5 star rating – the highest rating there is!!! Congratulations to everyone who made this happen.

We have to say some sad goodbyes:

  • Laura our kitchen assistant has left us to extend her career as a chef and gain more knowledge in this field. We wish her well in her new job and hope she will keep in touch.

We would like to welcome:

Ray our photographer will be coming in to take photos of the children going to school in their graduation gowns.

If your child already attends nursery on this day then the staff in the room will ensure that their photos are taken. If you want to bring a change of clothes for your child then make sure you let the staff know in the room.

If your child does not attend this day then you can book a time slot. A time sheet will be put up on your child’s room door soon.

This will take place on Wednesday 21st June. Time slots are available from 6:15 – 9:00pm.  Sheets will go up in your child’s room from 1st June for you to book a time with their key person. If at all possible, we ask that you do not bring your children with you as we will not be providing crèche facilities during parents evening. Thank you for your co-operation in this matter.

Grant Funded

  • Key worker and Buddy System Information
  • As you are all aware every child in our nursery is assigned a key worker from when they start at the nursery until they finish.
  • The aim of the key worker is to bond with your child to help them settle into the room. The key worker will ensure to have a good understanding of your child’s likes dislikes and care needs.
  • The importance of knowing your child’s interests helps the key worker to plan activities in which your child will enjoy to help them to blossom in their development.
  • The staffs work on a shift basis of earlies and late’s, therefore there will be times you see your child’s key worker in the morning and other times in the evening. The staffs are also entitled to Annual Leave throughout the year. Because the key worker system is so important to us, another member of staff from your child’s room who is on the opposite shift to the key worker will be assigned the buddy key worker.
  • The Buddy will cover the key workers role when the original key worker is absent.
  • Each room have a display to show which children are assigned to which key worker. If you have not already seen this and you do not know who your child’s key worker is then please do not hesitate to come and have a look. On the display will also show who the Buddy is in the absence of the key worker.
  • As you can understand, sometimes we have changes throughout the nursery which means children need to change key worker. If and when this happens, you will be told about this change. We have also implemented that a New Key Worker Slip will be handed to you to inform you of your child’s new key worker and buddy with the picture of the new keyworker.

Please can we ask (again) that you DO NOT park on/in front of/across the yellow box on the road leading down to the nursery. Please find a proper parking bay in the car park and walk down. Thank you for your co-operation.

Thank you for your continued support.
